Pumped Storage

Pumped storage is one of the most efficient methods of storing and deploying energy.  This form of storage uses the gravitational energy of water, contained in an upper reservoir which is pumped from a lower reservoir during off-peak electricity.  During periods of peak electrical demand, the upper reservoir water is deployed through turbines which generates electricity quickly, efficiently and on-demand.  This storage technology has the greatest capacity and efficiency of any other storage technology today.  Furthermore, it doesn’t rely the use of harmful non-renewable materials found in batteries.  Pumped Storage remains the most efficient load balancing form of bulk storage.
